Don't you have a counselor or somebody at your college that can help you? They know the courses you should take in order to get a computer science degree.

A lot of colleges are teaching Java as a beginning language, but I was introduced to C programming first.

My personal opinion is to study algorithms and data structures very well rather than focusing on a particular language.
Reply:You'll want to learn the newest language so you can offer more. Most colleges are teaching Java. Java web services and Active Server Pages with C sharp are the most widely used server-side languages right now. You'll have to know a bit of query language, oracle, most likely.

You want mostly focus on bringing business logic to the front end. You may do so with a web system or an graphical application. That's what companies want. Professional and well-maintained systems that present their users with useful information.

Unfortunately, you have to get deep into API's to make these systems, so you should spend a lot of time reading and planning. Programming can get stale at times, so remember to keep thinking of new ways to do things and ideas to make the user-system experience better.
Reply:hmmmm..

for start with c++ and c#
