I heard that C++ and Java are good, but I need some definite answers please!
What programs and languages should I learn to be a video game programmer?
Depends on what kind of games you want to make. If you want to make just casual 2d games, learning java is enough to get you started.
If you want to learn to make 3d games. Learn C/C++ and directx. There are some good courses at http://www.gameinstitute.com
Reply:any of the 3d programs such as 3dsmax or lightwave would be a plus.
Reply:as for languages you should learn Japanese so if there are any japanese clients you will be able to translat/speak to the dirrectly...seeing as most video game companys are japenese
