I am a programmer who uses C++, C#, .NET, actionscript 3.0, php, etc, etc. the impression I have gotten is that pc is best for business, Mac good for media and linux good for server use, which would be the best platform for developing web/desktop/database type of stuffz?
Ive been using pc for a while now, and there so many alternatives thanks to the open source community for doing .NET stuffz, or flash stuffz on other platforms, but which one is the best to do it all on?

Reply:Depends on the language you are using, if it open source such as PHP, Perl or Java I recommend you to use Linux/ Unix. But if you are using .NET, I'm sure you know what to use.
Reply:Linux because it is a good server(as you said), great for media(shrek 3 was made using it and blender of course), and beryl and compiz were the ones who broke the ground in 3d desktops).
